Maki Zen'in is a second-year at Tokyo Jujutsu High in Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since 2018. She was born into the Zen'in clan, one of the three big sorcerer families, without a trace of cursed energy.
What makes Maki Zenin stand out
-
Heavenly Restriction, not a technique.
With no cursed energy to work with, Maki carries a Heavenly Restriction: her physical ability sits far beyond an ordinary sorcerer's. She fights with her body where her classmates use innate techniques.
-
Glasses to see curses.
Curses are invisible to anyone without the sight for them, and that includes Maki. Special glasses let her perceive what she is fighting, which makes them part of her kit rather than a style choice.
-
Cursed tools instead of spells.
Her answer to having no technique is equipment. She trains with cursed tools and handles them well enough to hold ground against opponents who outclass her on paper.
-
The clan she left.
The Zen'in only count male members with strong techniques, and she walks away from that hierarchy rather than live inside it.
