Luke Sullivan

Luke Sullivan is a fighter in Capcom's Street Fighter, introduced as the last downloadable character of Street Fighter V in 2021 and then made the face of Street Fighter 6, which released in June 2023. His fighting style is military mixed martial arts.

What makes Luke Sullivan stand out

• Guile's student. Luke's father Robert was killed in a terrorist bombing while getting him out. Luke joined the military afterwards and trained for years under Guile, who eventually told him the forces were not the life he was looking for and pushed him toward professional fighting.
• Boxing with a soldier's habits. His style is built on short, tight punches and forward pressure rather than reach, and it keeps the straight lines military combatives would teach.
• Rebuilt for the sequel. The Street Fighter 6 version is a few years older, easier in manner, and written as the character who brings newcomers into the cast. His Street Fighter V outfit returns in that game as an alternate, which is how the two designs are told apart.
• Colour as a statement. Orange and blue, a hood, and forearms drawn from Popeye: the design was set against Ryu's plain white gi on purpose, so the new lead would not read as a copy of the old one.
