LM314V21 Victory Two Gundam, usually shortened to V2, is the League Militaire's flagship mobile suit in Mobile Suit Victory Gundam (1993, U.C. 0153). It is a new design built to replace the Victory Gundam rather than a rebuilt version of it, laid down on the Moon with Anaheim funding. Üso Ewin receives the second of its two completed Core Fighters and flies it through the second half of the Zanscare War.
What it does in the story
The first V2 Core Fighter is lost with Oliver Inoe when the League tries to stop the Zanscare fleet leaving the Moon, and the surviving unit goes to Üso. From then on the V2 is the League's answer to Zanscare's beam rotor machines, using its drive to outrun and outclimb them. After the war Üso keeps it hidden near Kasarelia.
What makes it different
-
Its main engine is not a rocket.
The Minovsky Drive, developed from the Victory's Minovsky Flight system, moves the suit in space without conventional thrusters and lets it hover over the ground on Earth. It also mitigates inertia, which is what lets the pilot survive the accelerations it produces.
-
The exhaust doubles as a weapon.
The drive's plumes spread into a pair of wings that behave as beam weapons rather than decoration. They swing as blades or open into a shield wide enough to cover other machines, and in that role they stopped a beam cannon able to hit Earth from high atmosphere.
-
The frame comes apart on purpose.
The V2 is a Core Fighter clipped to an upper body and a lower body, so battle damage can be swapped out quickly. The Core Fighter can also fly with only the upper section as a Top Fighter, or only the lower as a Bottom Fighter.
How big is it?
- Head height: 15.5 m, 11.5 t empty and 15.9 t gross, per Bandai's official spec
- 1/144: roughly 10.8 cm
- 1/100: roughly 15.5 cm

Frequently asked questions
1. Is the Victory Two just an upgraded Victory Gundam?
No. It keeps the Core Block idea and much of the armament, but the airframe is new, because the plan to re-engine the Victory could not work. The V2 also carries the Minovsky Drive, which the Victory does not.
2. What are the Wings of Light?
The visible exhaust of the Minovsky Drive, not a separate device. The same plume cuts like a beam sword or widens into a barrier, which is why the suit can shield other machines as well as itself.
3. How many Victory 2s were built?
Two Core Fighters were completed. One was destroyed with Oliver Inoe aboard during the attempt to block the Zanscare launch from the Moon, and the other went to Üso. A blue unit without the Minovsky Drive appears with the Jupiter Fleet in the Outside Story material.
4. What are the Assault and Buster parts?
Add-on packs developed alongside the suit, using the spare output the Minovsky Drive freed up. Because the V2 has hardpoints on the arms, side armour and legs, they can be fitted in the field, and they are simple enough to bolt onto an allied machine.
