Killua Zoldyck is one of the two leads of Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter × Hunter. He is the third child of the Zoldyck family of assassins and meets Gon Freecss at the Hunter Exam, the trial that licenses the series' hunters. He is twelve then, and joins Gon's search for his missing father.
What makes Killua Zoldyck stand out
-
Raised to kill, and tired of it.
Killua was trained in the family trade from infancy, and the training shows: resistance to poison, tolerance for his own electricity, reflexes built for assassination. The Hunter Exam gives him a reason to stop using them.
-
Transmutation Nen.
His Nen type is Transmutation, which he uses to change his aura into electricity. Godspeed (Kanmuru) turns that charge into bursts of speed the eye cannot follow.
-
The yo-yos.
When his hands are injured during the Greed Island arc he fights with a pair of yo-yos instead of electricity, and they stay part of his silhouette.
-
Two spellings.
English releases alternate between Zoldyck and Zaoldyeck, so the same character can appear under both names.
