Haruka Sakura

Haruka Sakura is the lead of Wind Breaker, Satoru Nii's manga serialised on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket since January 2021 and adapted into anime by CloverWorks. He transfers into Furin High School in Makochi aiming to stand at the top, and finds the students fight to protect the town instead.

What makes Haruka Sakura stand out

• Two colours in one face. Sakura has heterochromia in both hair and eyes. Nii gave him the mismatched colouring so he would read as the lead at a glance; in the story it is one reason other children avoided him.
• A fighter before anything else. Years of harsh treatment made him skilled in a fight, and that skill is the one thing he takes pride in.
• Tsundere to the core. Being praised or thanked embarrasses him, which is why he keeps pushing friendship away even after Bofurin takes him in.
• Drawn like a stray cat. Nii described the design in feline terms: light movements and a frame without much mass.
