Hakuryu Taitei

Gundam Hakuryuu Taitei is the Dragon Emperor of the Musha Gundam line, introduced in 1993's Shin SD Sengokuden: Densetsu no Daishogun-hen. Under the armour sits a Musha redesign of the Gundam GP01 Zephyranthes. The title is a courtesy: his people greet the return of a dragon emperor, while he keeps saying he has not trained enough for it.

What it does in the story

He comes in as reinforcement rather than as the chapter's lead. When another land is threatened he sets out with two dragon retainers, Seiryu and Koryu. His part in the fighting is tied to the armour he carries, the same inheritance that gives him the name.

What makes it different

• The armour is the title. Ryukiho, the treasure of the dragon emperors, is what makes him Taitei rather than simply the lord of his country. The kit can strip that armour to a light build, so both states are in the box.
• The gear is two swords and a chest gun. Twin dragon swords sit in the hands and a twin-blast cannon is built into the chest, able to fire a projectile. The technique attached to the pair is Ryutei Gekirin Dan.
• The box also arms his retainers. Two extra armour sets, Ryuga for Seiryu and Ryubi for Koryu, fit those characters rather than the emperor. It is why the kit can be built as a small squad.
• The shoulders are dragon heads. The GP01's blocky shoulder armour gives way to a dragon motif, and the upper arms sit on a moving axis so the two-sword pose closes.
