RX-124 Gundam TR-6 [Woundwort] is the base unit of the TR-6 series in Advance of Zeta: The Flag of Titans, the photo-novel and manga set late in the Gryps Conflict (U.C. 0088). It is the final product of the TR Plan, the Titans' programme for a next-generation mainstay mobile suit, and Lieutenant Eliard Hunter of the Titans Test Team is its test pilot.
What it does in the story
The prototype rides aboard the Test Team's ship Aswan in its Kehaar II form, with Hunter formally assigned to it in February U.C. 0088. When Titans headquarters orders it committed at the battle over the Gryps 2 colony laser, the Aswan's commander judges that sending a Gundam out would only revive a settled war and orders Hunter to sortie and destroy the machine instead. On the way out it destroys three Nemos and lands a critical hit on a Salamis-class cruiser before an AEUG Rick Dias catches up.
What makes it different
The TR-6 is a system, not one mobile suit.
It is built around the Woundwort and its core component, the Primrose II. The Universal Replacement System lets the suit fold its limbs and take reinforcement units, so it can stand in for other Federation machines; with TR-1 Hazel parts it is named Hazel II.
The cockpit is also an escape pod.
The torso containing the cockpit detaches and works on its own as the Primrose II, which the design treats as a core component of the system rather than safety equipment added afterwards.
The frame is thin on purpose.
The Woundwort is a light-armour design, minimally armoured so transformation comes first, with folding mechanisms in the limbs. A high-output TR-type generator gives the small airframe its power-to-weight ratio and lets the mobile armour form fly in atmosphere.
The transformation runs through a Drum Frame.
The suit is a set of components on a Drum Frame, the centre of the transformation mechanism. The mobile armour form's aerodynamics are poor, so atmospheric flight needs option parts. The Boost Pod at the rear upgrades the Hazel's booster pod with coolant gas emitters and a built-in generator.

Frequently asked questions
1. What is the Composite Shield Booster?
The Woundwort's main armament, doing several jobs: long beam rifle, close-combat claw, targeting sensor and an I-field generator that bends beams. Its winch unit can work as a mobile bit, and the claw connects to a long rifle barrel with heat blades on both sides.
2. How many TR-6 configurations are there?
Enough that the design material calls the number effectively infinite. Listed variants run from the Kehaar II atmospheric form and the Haze'n-thley II to the Fiver II, the Dandelion II and the Inle, all built on the Woundwort core.
3. Can the Woundwort fly in the atmosphere?
Yes. Its thrust allows independent flight, and the mobile armour form is the configuration for it. Because that form's aerodynamics are poor, atmospheric use calls for dedicated option parts; the Kehaar II is the version built for the role.
4. Where does the Woundwort sit in the TR Plan?
At the end of it. The TR Plan was the Titans' effort to standardise mobile suit development, and the Woundwort is its fully realised product, designed to be reconfigured rather than replaced.
