xvm-fzc Gundam Legilis is the first Gundam-type mobile suit built by the Vagan, appearing in the Kio arc of Mobile Suit Gundam AGE (2011, Advanced Generation, A.G. 164). It was assembled from analysis data on a captured AGE-3 Orbital fused with records pulled out of an EXA-DB subunit. Vagan leader Fezarl Ezelcant flies it first, and it then passes to Zeheart Galette.
What it does in the story
Its first sortie is at Second Moon, where Ezelcant takes it out to stop Kio Asuno from escaping and to hold off Asemu Asuno's Dark Hound, and the suit keeps pace with the Dark Hound without trouble. As Ezelcant's health fails he names Zeheart his successor and hands over both his staff and the Legilis. Zeheart flies it to the EXA-DB and later takes it into the battle at La Gramis.
What makes it different
-
The head camera opens into a twin eye.
In ordinary use the main camera is the usual Vagan slit, and it spreads into a Gundam-like pair of eyes when the pilot's spatial awareness wakes up or the suit is running flat out. The wider aperture raises the sensor's search area along with it.
-
Its shield is where the bits come from.
The Legilis Shield carries the generator for the Legilis Bits, an improved take on the transmitters used by the Ghirarga. The bits are steered by the pilot's brainwaves, work as an all-range weapon, and can be packed into a sphere around the suit as a beam barrier.
-
The head contains the escape core.
The Legilis Core takes the head with its cockpit, the inner torso, the back and the tail cannon, and detaches as one piece in an emergency. It is a reverse-engineered version of the core block system from the AGE-3 the Vagan had captured.
-
Zeheart flew it without his mask.
The suit tracks an X-Rounder's reactions closely enough that the mask Zeheart wore to restrain his own ability was no longer needed in the cockpit. He took it off when he took the machine over.
How big is it?
- Overall height: 19.1 m according to Bandai's official spec, with a weight of 71.2 t
- 1/144: roughly 13.3 cm, which covers the HGAGE and AG kits

Frequently asked questions
1. Is the Legilis a Gundam or a Vagan suit?
Both. The Vagan built it, and it is the first machine of theirs to carry the Gundam name, which is why it wears a tricolour scheme while keeping Vagan features like slit-style sensors and palm beam vulcans.
2. What is the Legilis Cannon?
A movable beam cannon shaped like a tail, mounted on the rear waist. It can swing out under either shoulder or down between the legs, and it is one of the parts that travels with the escape core.
3. Are there other versions of the Legilis?
Yes. The Memory of Eden film uses a Zeheart custom in a red Mars scheme, catalogued as xvm-fzcr, and the EXA-LOG material adds a Legilis-R. Both keep the same 19.1 m height.
4. Which Legilis kits exist?
The 1/144 HGAGE kit and the simpler 1/144 AG kit both arrived in 2012, alongside an SD Gundam BB Senshi release. The Memory of Eden colours were a P-Bandai exclusive in 2013.
