OZX-GU02A Gundam Geminass 02

OZX-GU02A Gundam Geminass 02 is one of two Gundams built in secret at the asteroid factory MO-V, in the manga New Mobile Report Gundam Wing Dual Story: G-Unit (1997, After Colony 195). It is the space-use unit of the pair, finished in deep blue, and it goes to the experienced Odel Bernett.

What it does in the story

Because Odel is the more seasoned brother, the 02 sees combat before the 01 and reaches the PX System first. It is damaged and captured by OZ Prize, who rebuild it into the OZ-10VMSX Gundam Aesculapius.

What makes it different

  • The two units differed only in finish and role. Geminass 02 was built alongside the 01 and is identical apart from its deep blue colour scheme. Its model number changed once MO-V aligned itself with OZ.
  • The rifle can store a charge. The Accelerate Rifle fires through an internal particle accelerator, and an electromagnetic condenser lets it release the charged Hyper Shot.
  • The PX System runs on the pilot. It draws on the adrenaline a pilot produces in combat and lifts the suit's performance, but its time limit punishes both pilot and machine if exceeded.

How big is it?

  • Overall height: 17.3 m according to Bandai's official spec
  • 1/144: roughly 12 cm

Frequently asked questions

1. What is the difference between the Geminass 01 and 02?

Colour and assignment: the 02 is the space-use machine in deep blue and went to Odel Bernett. It fought first because Odel was already capable while his younger brother Odin was new.

2. What happens to it in the story?

OZ Prize damages and captures it, then remodels it into the Gundam Aesculapius rather than scrapping it.

3. Does the 1/144 kit include the Ground Heavy Equipment Unit?

No. The 2021 kit is the suit on its own; the Ground Heavy Equipment Unit is a separate expansion parts set from the same year.

4. How much does the Geminass 02 weigh?

Bandai lists 7.9 t empty as standard and 10.2 t with the Space Unit. Its armour is G-metal over Luna Ceramic and fine Kevlar.
