Guan Yu Yun Chang Nu Gundam

Guan Yu Yun Chang ν Gundam is the Shu Area's strategist in SD Gundam World Sangoku Soketsuden, begun in March 2019 for Gundam's 40th anniversary. The role is played by the RX-93 ν Gundam, and he travels with Liu Bei and Zhang Fei in search of Zhuge Liang.

What it does in the story

He and Zhang Fei leave Luoyang together, both having served its previous lord, and meet Liu Bei on the road. After the war he leads the rebuilding of Luoyang, and that standing carries him to the Wu Sheng form.

What makes it different

  • His halberd only works in his hands. Seiryuengetsuto joins a huge blade to a spear shaft, and its size is why the weapon is treated as his alone. It changes size with his mood and opens for a two-handed grip.
  • The finisher is a sweep, and it drains him. Ryuuga Sougetsu Enbu enlarges the blade and cuts across everything in range, at a cost that ends fights rather than opening them.
  • The Wu Sheng blade reconfigures. Seiryuengetsuto Shigoku is the larger, variable version, and Ryuuga Sougetsu Dai Enbu swings it fully extended to cut down enemies outside their own reach.

1. Is this the same Guan Yu as the one in BB Senshi Sangokuden?

No. The earlier line cast him as the ZZ Gundam; this series recasts the role with the ν Gundam. The two share a Romance of the Three Kingdoms frame and no narrative link.

2. What separates Guan Yu from Wu Sheng Guan Yu?

Wu Sheng is the form he reaches after the war, once he leads the rebuilding of Luoyang. The SDSS-34 kit is a parts and colour variant of the 2019 SDSS-02 release.

3. Does the kit join up with anything?

SDSS-02 combines with the SDSS-12 Trinity Bike to make a bike for this character, and that bike kit ships with stickers in four colours, Shu green among them.
