GN-011 Gundam Harute

GN-011 Gundam Harute is the transformable Gundam Celestial Being fields in Mobile Suit Gundam 00 the Movie: A Wakening of the Trailblazer (2010, Anno Domini 2314). Derived from the GN-007 Arios Gundam, it is the first Gundam with a two-seat cockpit, flown by the Super Soldiers Allelujah Haptism and Soma Peries.

What it does in the story

Its written role is to go in first: it charges into an enemy formation at speed, hits several opponents at once, and leaves the formation disordered for the Gundams arriving behind it. For the ELS fight it is fitted with leg-mounted GN Vernier Units that add thrust and ten more GN Scissor Bits.

What makes it different

  • Two crew split flying from shooting. Soma works the fire control system from the front seat while Allelujah pilots from the raised rear seat. The mechanism and weapon set were too much for one person to run smoothly.
  • A sword rifle that also cuts and grabs. The pair of GN Sword Rifles combines rifle, sword and scissor claw in one weapon, and stays usable in both MS Form and Flight Form, so the suit closes without swapping gear.
  • Marute Mode changes its face. It alters the face and brings special systems online, pooling the reactions of Allelujah, his alternate personality Hallelujah, and Soma. It can be run together with Trans-Am.

How big is it?

  • Head height: 19.0 m according to Bandai's official spec
  • Weight: 77.1 t
  • 1/144: roughly 13.2 cm

Frequently asked questions

1. Is the Harute just an upgraded Arios?

It reuses the Arios frame because Celestial Being was short of resources, but it is a new machine. Development folded in data from the Arios and the GN Archer, plus XN Raiser weapon technology.

2. Does the Harute have beam sabers?

No, and it is the only machine in the Kyrios–Arios line without one. Close combat belongs to the GN Sword Rifles and the GN Scissor Bits instead.

3. What are the GN Vernier Units?

A pair of leg-mounted boosters fitted for the final battle. They carry high-output GN Verniers for thrust and ten more GN Scissor Bits, raising mobility and attack power together.
