Giant Baba

Giant Baba — Shohei Baba — was a Japanese professional wrestler from Sanjo, Niigata, and at 209 cm one of the tallest men the sport has had. He pitched for the Yomiuri Giants before he moved to wrestling, made his ring debut on 30 September 1960, and in 1972 founded All Japan Pro Wrestling.

What makes Giant Baba stand out

  • The 16-mon kick. It became his signature move, and with Antonio Inoki he formed the BI Cannon tag team.
  • Champion three times over. He held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in 1974, 1979 and 1980.
  • Soft vinyl at 14 cm. Sculpted by HAO, with movement at the neck, both shoulders and the waist.

What this collection covers

Two versions of the same sculpt: the Phoenix gown and the Crane gown.
