GF13-021NG Gundam Spiegel

GF13-021NG Gundam Spiegel is Neo Germany's Mobile Fighter in Mobile Fighter G Gundam (1994–1995, Future Century 60), flown by Schwarz Bruder in the 13th Gundam Fight. The English dub calls it Shadow Gundam.

What it does in the story

The Spiegel is one of the first machines to fight the Devil Gundam after it lands on Earth, and afterwards it tends to arrive when Domon Kasshu is losing. It holds off Master Asia's Master Gundam so the Shining Gundam can escape, and when Schwarz challenges Domon himself an iron net is what stops the Shining Finger.

What makes it different

• The forearms are the weapons. A Spiegel Blade sits on each forearm. Folded forward they add reach, and spun fast enough they let the suit hover like a rotor; they are also what the Sturm Und Drang turns on a target.
• It fights with ninja kit. Iron Net fires from the palms and holds another Gundam still long enough to shock it. Messergranz kunai come from a red hatch in the abdomen, are thrown by hand and can carry explosives.
• Sturm Und Drang is a spin, not a punch. The suit spins like a top and cuts with the forearm blades, grinding a target down, bouncing off to strike again, or knocking shots aside.
• The pilot is inside the motion. It runs on the Mobile Trace System, so the pilot's body drives the suit from a 360-degree cockpit in the Core Lander. A martial art, not a fire-control system, defines how it moves.
