GAT-X105B/ST Star Build Strike Gundam

GAT-X105B/ST Star Build Strike Gundam is Sei Iori's tournament Gunpla in Gundam Build Fighters (2013-14), an upgrade of the Build Strike Gundam Full Package. Sei builds and tunes it while Reiji flies it. In the story it is a 1/144 model too: a High Grade kit with scratch-built parts.

What it does in the story

Sei assembles it to unsettle the field at the Gunpla World Tournament, and it carries the pair through the later rounds. The Absorb Shield lets it take an opponent's beam and give the energy back, which is how it stays in fights against machines with more output. Along the way it faces the Gundam X Maoh and the Exia Dark Matter.

What makes it different

• Three systems share one particle supply. Absorb eats beam shots through the shield, Discharge spends what was absorbed, and the RG System pushes particles through the inner frame so they reinforce the structure. Discharge only runs on particles already banked.
• The shield is a charger as well as armour. Its charging barrel links to the Star Beam Rifle for Discharge Rifle Mode, when the rifle's top barrel flips over. The shield is weak against heavy projectiles and cannot swallow a beam as large as the Gundam X Maoh's Hyper Satellite Cannon.
• The backpack is a separate aircraft. The UB-01 Universe Booster adds two Star Beam Cannons that swing backward to fire and detaches as an independent fighter. It is also where the Plavsky Power Gate and Wings are made.
