GAT-X105B/EG Build Strike Exceed Galaxy

GAT-X105B/EG Build Strike Exceed Galaxy is Sei Iori's Gunpla in Gundam Build Metaverse (2023), the three-episode anniversary series. He builds it on a 1/144 Entry Grade Strike rather than a higher-grade frame, and the EG in its number stands for Exceed Galaxy.

What it does in the story

Sei's aim is a Build Strike with no final form, only more options, and the third episode puts it on the field against the Gundam Amazing Barbatos Lupus alongside the Star Burning Gundam. The EG System carries it through that fight.

What makes it different

  • The EG System spreads the boost around. Energy Glitter-circulation comes from the RG System of the Star Build Strike. It concentrates energy at chosen points, raising attack, defence or mobility as needed, which offsets an Entry Grade's lower base spec.
  • Twenty hardpoints, plus three. The 1/144 kit has twenty mounting points, from one on each leg side to six on the Galaxy Fighter and two each on the Ex Shield and Beam Rifle. The Exceed Joint adds three more.
  • The rifle breaks into two weapons. The Beam Rifle separates into a barrel club and a small beam gun, and the club focuses EG System energy into a beam barrel blade. The half-sized Ex Shield can raise its own blade, though not at the same time.

How big is it?

  • Overall height: 17.7 m, per Bandai's published spec
  • 1/144: roughly 12 cm

Frequently asked questions

1. Is the Exceed Galaxy the same Gunpla as the earlier Build Strike?

No. It is a new build from an Entry Grade Strike rather than from the Build Strike Gundam, with its own equipment: the EG System, the Galaxy Fighter and the split Beam Rifle.

2. What does the Galaxy Fighter do?

It docks as a backpack, and because the suit has hardpoints on its limbs it can also go on either forearm or either leg. It carries six hardpoints of its own.

3. Where did the Star Beam Cannons come from?

They are the pair on the UB-01 Universe Booster, the support machine for the Star Build Strike. They detach and clip to the sides of the Ex Shield.
