GAT-X105 Strike Gundam Striker Weapon System

The Striker Weapon System is the interchangeable equipment built for the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED (2002, C.E. 71). Instead of one fixed loadout, the Strike carries a Striker Pack on its back, and each pack brings its own weapons and battery.

What it does in the story

The system lets one airframe cover a whole war: the Archangel changes packs between sorties and sometimes during them, firing a replacement off the catapult or sending an FX-550 Skygrasper with it. The swap is the weak point: Phase Shift drops while it happens and the packs cannot fly themselves.

What makes it different

  • Every pack carries a battery. The packs run on an auxiliary cell while undocked and feed the suit once mounted, which is how the same Strike works through long engagements. A pack is a power supply as much as a weapon mount.
  • The list runs past the three familiar packs. Aile, Sword and Launcher were the first three. The Strike's equipment record also carries the X04 Gunbarrel Striker, the YM1 Multiple Assault Striker, the P204QX Lightning Striker, the P202QX Integrated Weapons Striker Pack and the P208QX DRAGOON Striker.
  • The parts can be mixed. Components from different packs combine, and the clearest case is the YM1 Multiple Assault Striker, which bolts Aile, Sword and Launcher equipment into one pack. Model kits had stacked the three before the combination was animated and named.
