Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange is Stephen Strange, a neurosurgeon whose hands are wrecked in a car crash and who travels to the Himalayas, trains under the Ancient One and becomes Sorcerer Supreme. Steve Ditko created him with Stan Lee, and he debuted in Strange Tales #110 in 1963. Benedict Cumberbatch has played him since 2016.

What makes Doctor Strange stand out

  • Surgeon to sorcerer. He starts arrogant and wealthy, treats only paying patients, and loses the career to nerve damage.
  • The objects. Eye of Agamotto, Cloak of Levitation, the Sanctum Sanctorum in Greenwich Village and his valet Wong.
  • Ditko's dimensions. The early stories put him in surreal, hallucinatory realms rather than city streets.
  • The 2022 costume. The Multiverse of Madness redesign is what the figure reproduces, cloak included.
