Deidara

Deidara is a missing-nin from Iwagakure and a member of Akatsuki in Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto's manga, working through the Shippuden era. He was the organisation's youngest member when he joined.

What makes Deidara stand out

• Mouths in his palms. A forbidden technique from his village gave him a mouth in each palm and a stitched mouth across the left of his chest. The mouths chew the clay, and his chakra turns what they make into a bomb.
• Explosion Release. He combines earth and lightning chakra natures into explosive clay, then shapes it as birds to fly on, a dragon that drops smaller charges, or grains too fine to see.
• Art is a single moment. His creed is that art is an explosion, a thing that exists only while it happens. It kept him in permanent argument with Sasori, who held that art is what survives.
• The eye under the fringe. A scope sits over his left eye behind a fall of blond hair, marking him as a long-range fighter, and he trained that eye until it could see through genjutsu.
