Decals

Decals carry a model's markings — national insignia, unit codes, warning stencils, sponsor liveries and Gunpla caution text. Most are water-slide: soaked, slid off the backing paper and settled into panel lines with softener. P-Rex Hobby stocks HiQ Parts, Bandai, Matho Models, AK Interactive and Eduard.

Water-slide, dry transfer or sticker?

Water-slide decals give the thinnest, most painted-on result and are the standard for scale models and finished Gunpla. Dry transfers rub down directly with no carrier film. Stickers ship in most Bandai kits and need no water, at the cost of a visible edge. Setting solutions and softeners are in Paints; surface prep in Primer / Surfacer.
