Daichi Sawamura

Daichi Sawamura is a third-year at Karasuno High and captain of its boys' volleyball team in Haruichi Furudate's Haikyu!!. He plays wing spiker, and he sets the tone the rest of the team follows.

What makes Daichi Sawamura stand out

• Captain by temperament. Teammates describe him as mature beyond his age; his calm is what holds together a side full of loud personalities.
• Defense as his craft. He worked on his receives from his first year, staying late with Sugawara and Asahi, and Karasuno counts on him to keep a hard serve off the floor.
• Coach when there was none. While Ikkei Ukai was hospitalised, Daichi was one of the captains who had to run the team as its coach.
