CONCEPT-X 6-1-2 Turn X

Concept-X 6-1-2 Turn X is the machine Gym Ghingham excavates and rebuilds in Turn A Gundam (Correct Century, C.C. 2345). It is the brother unit of the System-∀99 Turn A: both are Turn-types and relics of the Dark History, the Turn X built beyond the Earth sphere.

What it does in the story

Gym has it dug out of a lunar Mountain Cycle and forces it into operation at the cost of nearly all the lunar capital's energy. Against Loran Cehack's Turn A, its All-Range Attack paralyses the Gundam for the Ghingham Fleet to capture.

What makes it different

  • It is asymmetrical because it was rebuilt from salvaged parts. Original components could not be found, so repairs used parts from other machines, many of them relics. That is why the arms and torso differ.
  • The head is the cockpit and the escape system. The X-Top is both, and it commands the All-Range Attack and the lunar satellite cannon Keilas Guilie. It carries no weapons but raises an I-field wide enough to shield two other suits.
  • It comes apart into ten pieces. Nine of the ten sections carry mega particle cannons, from the torso and legs to the Carapace; only the X-Top is unarmed. That all-range attack is Bloody Siege.

How big is it?

  • Head height: 20.5 m per Bandai's official spec, at 50.6 t loaded and 30.2 t empty
  • 1/100: roughly 20.5 cm

Frequently asked questions

1. Is the Turn X the same machine as the Turn A Gundam?

No. They are separate Turn-types: the Turn X drifted in from outside the solar system, and the Turn A was built in the Earth sphere from its technology.

2. Why can it not reach its full output in the series?

It was made for pilots once called Newtypes, and by C.C. 2345 none remain. It runs below its designed performance throughout.

3. Did the Turn X always have the Moonlight Butterfly?

That is unresolved. It absorbed the system on contact with the Turn A; whether it was part of the original design is unclear.

4. What is its right arm registered as?

A Fusion and Crushing Manipulator, logged in the suit's database as Shining Finger. It grabs a target and releases energy on contact.
