Choso is a supporting character in Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from March 2018 to September 2024. He is the eldest of the nine Death Painting Wombs, hybrids of cursed spirit and human, and he enters the story on the wrong side of the Shibuya Incident.
What makes Choso stand out
-
Blood is the weapon.
Choso's cursed technique is Blood Manipulation, and his hybrid body lets him run it more efficiently than an ordinary sorcerer could. His own blood hardens into projectiles, binds and cutting edges, which is why his fight scenes are about positioning and supply rather than raw force.
-
The brother who passes for human.
Eso and Kechizu wear what they are on their bodies. Choso does not, and that difference is the point: he reads as a person in a hoodie and a braid, and figure makers build him around the hair and the blood effects instead of monster anatomy.
-
An antagonist who changes allegiance.
He comes to Shibuya to avenge his brothers, recognises Yuji Itadori as a half-brother in the middle of a fight, and switches sides. He then spends his time protecting Yuji and teaching him blood-based techniques.
-
A face that barely moves.
His design is built on a flat, tired expression, which makes him unusual among Jujutsu Kaisen antagonists and gives sculptors something other than rage to work with.

Frequently asked questions
1. Is Choso a cursed spirit?
He is a hybrid. The Death Painting Wombs are born from a cursed spirit and a human, which is why he looks entirely human and still uses a cursed technique.
2. Which arcs do these figures come from?
The Luminasta and FIGURIZMα entries name the Shibuya Incident and Culling Game arcs. The Nendoroid, Figuarts mini, Lookup and COLLEKAZARO pieces are general Jujutsu Kaisen releases.
3. Is the Tiny Melties pack one figure?
No. It is a two-figure pack containing one Choso and one Nanami Kento.
