Cheshire

Cheshire is a Royal Navy heavy cruiser in Azur Lane, the 2017 mobile game from Shanghai Manjuu and Xiamen Yongshi in which Second World War warships are reborn as shipgirls.

What makes Cheshire stand out

• A research hull, not a build She is a Priority ship carrying the hull number Plan 013, unlocked through the game's research system rather than construction, which is why she never turns up in the ordinary build pool.
• Cat first, cruiser second Ears, a fluffy tail and a maid's uniform: the design is a nod to the Cheshire Cat, down to the paw shapes that appear in her barrage.
• Anti-air without giving up surface damage She is built as an anti-air heavy cruiser but stays a threat to surface ships, which avoids the usual trade-off for ships focused on aircraft.
• A hull that was never laid down The real Cheshire does not exist. The design descends from a British study for a 15,500-ton cruiser, and the game arms her with a twin 234 mm prototype turret.
