Burning Knight F91 Jr. is kit CB-002 in Bandai's SD Gundam Chibi Senshi line, released in June 1992 as the first Knight release in that run. The character comes from SD Gundam Gaiden: Seikihei Monogatari, the 1992 chapter that moved the series onto the kihei, its giant machine soldiers.
What it does in the story
In that story Burning Knight Gundam F91 is the first knight sent from the Britis Kingdom to help Dabat against the revived Neo Zeon Clan, arriving with Silver Knight Vigna Ghina, and the opening chapter is told largely through him. When the group is attacked in the royal valley he boards the Holy Machine Soldier Gunrex, and the effort leaves him in a coma.
What makes it different
-
The kit is his chapter-one loadout.
The figure reproduces the equipment he wears in Seikihei Monogatari I: Revival of the Holy Machine Soldier rather than a later or combined form.
-
The line is built on a polycap frame.
Chibi Senshi kits clip a head, limbs and torso plates onto a polycap frame at about 45 mm on average — far under a BB Senshi kit. Every regular release carries Jr. in its name.
-
Knight kits keep their armour separate.
The knight-type figures were built with detachable armour rather than a moulded body, as on Knight Gundam GP01 Jr. and GP03 Jr. in the same run.
-
It came back in clear plastic.
November 1993 brought Crystal Gundam Knights, a transparent three-pack with Knight Gundam GP01 Jr. and GP03 Jr. Same tooling, so the armour and frame are unchanged.

Frequently asked questions
1. Is Burning Knight F91 Jr. a variant of the Gundam F91?
No. It is an SD Gaiden character whose design basis is listed as the F91 and the RXF-91 Silhouette Gundam, and the kit is a figure of that character, not a scale model of the suit.
2. What is Seikihei Monogatari?
The 1992 chapter of SD Gundam Gaiden, following Knights of the Round Table. It moved the series onto the kihei and drew its designs from Stardust Memory and F91.
3. Why does every kit in this line have Jr. in the name?
It is the Chibi Senshi naming convention: all eleven regular releases from 1992 to 1994 carry it. The suffix marks the smaller format.
4. What is in the Crystal Gundam Knights set?
A November 1993 three-pack of clear-plastic reissues: this kit with Knight Gundam GP01 Jr. and Knight Gundam GP03 Jr., using the original mouldings.
