GAT-X105B/GC Build Strike Galaxy Cosmos

GAT-X105B/GC Build Strike Galaxy Cosmos is Sei Iori's Gunpla in Gundam Build Fighters: Battlogue (2017), an upgraded form of the Build Strike Gundam Cosmos he flew in the 8th World Tournament. Sei rebuilt the machine part by part instead of starting a new design, and it appears in the fifth Battlogue episode.

What it does in the story

Sei flies it in that episode, where the Galaxy Booster docks onto the suit's back the moment it reaches the field and the RG System and Star System are run together for a short window. That combination spends everything the model has at once, and the short makes the point that the extra performance arrives with a matching drop in how easily the suit can be controlled.

What makes it different

  • The Booster opens twelve wings. The Galaxy Booster is a support unit that doubles as the suit's backpack. Under the RG Star System its twelve wings fan out as particle-control antennae, letting the suit steer Plavsky particles accurately across a wide area.
  • Two systems run at the same time. The RG System circulates particles through the model while the Star System absorbs incoming attacks into a Power Gate. Activating both together raises performance to the model's limit and makes piloting it much harder.
  • The shield is a defensive Star System. The Cosmo Shield on the left forearm diffuses attacks instead of banking them, a use of a system that usually works offensively. The beam rifle can also be linked to the shield's connecting arm to fire absorbed energy as a beam.
  • It is the old frame, improved everywhere. New crystal parts sit on the chest, shoulders and legs, the armour is thick enough to stop vulcan fire, and Sei reworked parts that look unchanged from the previous Cosmos.

How big is it?

  • Overall height: 17.7 m per Bandai's published spec
  • 1/144: roughly 12.3 cm, which covers the HGBF release

Frequently asked questions

1. How is the Galaxy Cosmos different from the Build Strike Cosmos?

It is a rebuilt version of that machine rather than a new design. The visible changes are the crystal parts on the chest, shoulders and legs and the thicker armour, and the larger change is the Galaxy Booster.

2. What is the RG Star System?

The simultaneous activation of the RG System and the Star System. The Booster's wings separate into twelve parts and the crystal parts on the shoulders and legs deploy, which lifts particle control and performance for a short period.

3. Can the Galaxy Booster fly on its own?

Yes. It can operate as an independent support unit, and the model kit is sold both with the suit and as a separate Galaxy Booster release.

4. Where does the Galaxy Cosmos appear?

Only in Gundam Build Fighters: Battlogue, the 2017 short series, in its fifth episode. It does not appear in either Build Fighters television series.
