AMX-107R Rebawoo

AMX-107R Rebawoo is the Sleeves' rebuild of the AMX-107 Bawoo, introduced in the short Mobile Suit Gundam UC: One of Seventy Two and dated U.C. 0094 to 0096. Neo Zeon's remnants reworked the transformable attack suit around Psycho-Frame while the organisation was still deciding what its leader would fly.

What it does in the story

The suit was meant for Full Frontal, and the plan was dropped once the Sleeves recovered the Sinanju Stein and rebuilt that into his Sinanju. The 10S stencils of his unit were struck out and the Rebawoo passed to other pilots. On 3 December U.C. 0095 it was running performance tests in a debris shoal when the Banshee and the Phenex arrived.

What makes it different

  • Psycho-Frame went into both halves. One frame sits in the nose of the lower torso and another around the cockpit, which is what keeps the two sections coordinated when they separate. The same frame makes the suit easier for a Newtype to steer.
  • The shield lost its mega particle cannons. The Bawoo's shield mounted five mega particle cannons; the Rebawoo's keeps the shape but not the guns, storing two beam axes and a grenade launcher instead. The axes can be joined at the grip into a beam naginata.
  • The lower half is now armed and crewed. The Rebawoo Nutter has its own Psycho-Frame cockpit where the Bawoo's lower half was a drone. It keeps the side-skirt machine cannons, adds flexible beam guns on the legs, and can carry missiles as well.
  • It borrows the Sinanju's rifle. The beam rifle is the same weapon the Sinanju uses, and when the suit separates it hangs under the Attacker. A pair of external propellant tanks can be fitted to extend operating time.

How big is it?

  • Head height: 19.6 m, with a loaded weight of 71.2 t, per Bandai's published spec
  • 1/144: roughly 13.6 cm, which covers the HGUC release
  • 1/100: roughly 19.6 cm, which covers the RE/100 release

Frequently asked questions

1. Is the Rebawoo a new machine or a modified Bawoo?

A rebuild. The Sleeves took the AMX-107 Bawoo, added Psycho-Frame to both halves, replaced the shield and gave the lower section a cockpit and its own weapons.

2. Why was Full Frontal never its pilot?

Because the Sleeves obtained the Sinanju Stein and converted it into the Sinanju for him instead. The Rebawoo was left without its intended pilot and its 10S markings were crossed out.

3. Does it still split into two craft?

Yes, into the Attacker and the Nutter. The Nutter flies as a lifting body, with leg rotation and side-skirt canards doing the work, and it is flown from its own cockpit rather than by remote control.

4. Where else does the Rebawoo appear?

In the manga U.C. 0094: Across the Sky as an antagonist's main suit, and in U.C. 0096: Last Sun.
