AMX-014 Döven Wolf is Neo Zeon's mass-produced assault mobile suit of Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ; it enters service in U.C. 0088, during the First Neo Zeon War, and is issued mainly to elite pilots. Its design borrows from two captured Federation machines: the ORX-013 Gundam Mk-V, one of which reached Neo Zeon with a defecting researcher, and the wreckage of the MRX-010 Psycho Gundam Mk-II.
What it does in the story
It beat the Zaku III for the mainstay role, then became the machine at the centre of the Neo Zeon civil war, when many of its pilots joined Glemy Toto's faction and fought Haman Karn's loyalists. The units left at Axis after the war were captured by the Federation. In U.C. 0096 the Sleeves still fly survivors, repainted blue.
What makes it different
-
The quasi-psycommu lets an ordinary pilot make an all-range attack.
It samples the pilot's brainwaves and the computer turns them into commands for remote weapons. The version here was refined from the Gundam Mk-V's and proven in the Hamma Hamma before being mass-produced.
-
Four wire-guided weapons, not two.
Two INCOMs sit in the backpack, each with a 2.0 MW beam gun, and two beam hands launch on guide wires with beam guns built into the palms. The hands can also grab a target and electrocute it.
-
The reactor was the largest of its class in the war.
At 5,250 kW it out-powered every other mass-produced mobile suit of the First Neo Zeon War, which is what let the frame carry so many beam weapons.
-
The rifle becomes a mega launcher.
The 12.5 MW beam rifle connects to the abdominal mega particle cannons to form a 40.2 MW mega launcher: the barrel extends, muzzle panels flip out and two side grips deploy. It cannot rapid-fire at that output.
How big is it?
- Overall height: 25.9 m with the head at 22.0 m, on Bandai's official spec sheet
- 1/144: roughly 18 cm

Frequently asked questions
1. How is the Döven Wolf related to the Gaza series?
It is a separate machine. The Döven Wolf is the AMX-014 assault suit; the Gaza line is the transformable AMX-003 and AMX-006 family. They share a manufacturer and an era, not a frame.
2. What happened to the Döven Wolfs left at Axis?
They were taken by the Federation after the war, moved to Anaheim Electronics' Granada factory and rebuilt as the ARX-014 Silver Bullet for quasi-psycommu research.
3. What is different on the commander version?
It looks identical but uses wireless beam hands, and once those launch a pair of hidden three-claw arms is revealed so the suit can still hold a rifle or a saber.
