Gunpla

Gunpla — short for Gundam plastic model — is Bandai's line of snap-fit model kits of the mobile suits from "Mobile Suit Gundam", in production since 1980. Kits are molded in color and need no glue, so a build straight from the box already looks finished. This page is every Gunpla kit at P-Rex Hobby, across all grades.

Which Gunpla grade should I buy?

• Entry Grade (EG) — 1/144, no tools needed at all. The easiest possible first kit.
• High Grade (HG) — 1/144, the core of the hobby and by far our largest range. Affordable, quick to build, and the widest choice of mobile suits.
• Real Grade (RG) — 1/144 with Master Grade-level detail and an inner frame. Small parts; best as a second or third kit.
• Master Grade (MG) — 1/100, full inner frame and far more articulation. The grade most builders settle into.
• Perfect Grade (PG) — 1/60 flagship kits with the most parts, detail and gimmicks Bandai makes.
• SD Gundam — super-deformed, chibi-proportioned kits; fast, inexpensive builds.

What do I need to build Gunpla?

A pair of nippers is the only real requirement. The usual first upgrades are a panel-lining marker to bring out surface detail and a topcoat to take the plastic shine off. Finished Gundam figures — Robot Spirits, METAL BUILD — are not Gunpla; they are made by Tamashii Nations.
