GN-0000GNHW/7SG 00 Gundam Seven Sword/G

GN-0000GNHW/7SG 00 Gundam Seven Sword/G is a Celestial Being machine from the side story Mobile Suit Gundam 00V: Battlefield Record (A.D. 2312). It is an upgraded 00 Gundam Seven Sword assembled from leftover parts while Setsuna F. Seiei waited for the 00 Qan[T]. Setsuna is its pilot, and the suit is a stand-in, not a machine built for a campaign.

What it does in the story

There is no campaign to describe. The Seven Sword/G flies test sorties, and its only engagement comes when a rogue GN-XIII, left over from the disbanded A-Laws, wanders onto a firing test and is destroyed with the new blaster. A later trial runs Trans-Am for 0.03 seconds and still hits a target more than 1,000 km away.

What makes it different

  • The G in the name stands for Gun. GN Sword II Blaster is the reason for the suffix. It is a composite weapon built on the 00 Gundam's GN Sword II but tuned to work as a gun first, so it does not count as an eighth sword despite the name.
  • The Twin Drive stabiliser moved into the sword. The original 00 Gundam could only run its Twin Drive System with the 0 Raiser docked. Here the stabiliser is built into the GN Buster Sword II, so the suit reaches stable Twin Drive operation without one.
  • It had to run without GN Drives. Both GN Drives were lost in the final battle with the Innovators, so the suit was tested on one GN Drive plus a large GN Condenser, or on two large condensers. The first cannot use Trans-Am at all; the second manages 0.03 seconds of it.
  • Seven blades, arranged around the body. Two GN Katars sit on the knee armour and heat what they cut, two GN Beam Sabers are stored on the rear waist, and the GN Sword II Long and Short hang on the right and left skirts. The Short's tip fires out on a wire and retracts, and the GN Buster Sword II on the left shoulder opens into a shield mode with a GN Field.

How big is it?

  • Head height: 18.3 m according to Bandai's official spec
  • Weight: 68.4 t, with the Seven Sword/G equipment accounting for 13.5 t
  • 1/144: roughly 12.7 cm
  • 1/100: roughly 18.3 cm

Frequently asked questions

1. Is the Seven Sword/G the same machine as the 00 Gundam?

It is a different configuration built on the same base. The frame comes from the 00 Gundam, but the weapon set and built-in Twin Drive stabiliser are specific to this version.

2. Does the Seven Sword/G appear in the anime?

No. It exists in the 00V: Battlefield Record side story and in the design record, and never took part in a campaign; Celestial Being avoided armed interventions by then.

3. How many swords does it carry?

Seven: two GN Katars, two GN Beam Sabers, the GN Sword II Long, the GN Sword II Short and the GN Buster Sword II. The Blaster is built around shooting, so it sits outside the count.

4. Which kits cover the Seven Sword/G?

1/144 has the 2010 HG00 release and a P-Bandai Real Grade of the Inspection version. In 1/100 there is the 2011 Master Grade, and in 1/60 the 2018 Perfect Grade.
