Master Grade (MG) is Bandai's 1/100 scale advanced Gunpla line, launched in July 1995. At 1/100, MG kits are larger than the 1/144 High Grade and Real Grade lines, and Bandai updates popular mobile suits with new versions (Ver. 2.0, Ver. 3.0, Ver.Ka) over time.
Above MG, Perfect Grade (PG) is 1/60 scale. Our grade guide compares every grade side by side.
P-Rex Hobby is a Bandai Recommended Hobby Store, listed on the Bandai Hobby Store Locator. Orders ship from Vancouver; U.S. orders ship with duties prepaid. Kits that are not out yet are listed in Gundam Pre-Order, and the latest kits in New Release Gundam.
What scale are MG Gundam kits?
Master Grade kits are 1/100 scale. Bandai launched the line in 1995 as its 1/100 advanced Gunpla brand.
What is the difference between MG and HG?
Scale is the main difference: Master Grade kits are 1/100, High Grade kits are 1/144, so an MG kit of the same mobile suit is noticeably larger.
Do these kits need glue?
No. Bandai introduced its snap-fit method in 1987, so the parts go together without adhesive.
What tools do I need?
Bandai recommends a modeling nipper to trim each part from its runner. Entry Grade is the exception: its touch gates can be separated by hand.
