Description
Discover the historical might of the U.S. Navy fleet before the Pacific War with this detailed model kit from Pit-Road. This kit celebrates the innovative strategy of using submarines and aircraft to reduce enemy forces before a decisive battle near Japan. It features the heavy lightning torpedo ship, born from the idea of striking a significant blow with the Type 93 oxygen torpedo. The light cruiser Kuma-class Oi and Kitakami, transformed into battleships with unmatched power, each equipped with 40 launch tubes and 40 torpedoes, are the highlights of this model. Although these ships were prepared for battle just before the war started in November 1941, the shift in naval warfare tactics to aircraft meant they never got to showcase their true capabilities. The Kitakami later served as a high-speed transport ship until it was rendered inoperable in July 1945 due to an air raid. This model kit not only brings a piece of naval history to your collection but also includes exquisite details for a realistic build.
- [Size]: Approximately 23.1cm long when completed
