This model represents a significant piece of modern military history, embodying the strategic shift towards lighter, more versatile armored vehicles capable of operating in the diverse terrains of China, from the water town areas of southern China to the challenging plateaus of Tibet. The ZTQ15, with its primary roles in infantry support and reconnaissance missions, is armed with a formidable 105mm rifle cannon, an evolution of the 105mm 81 rifle for 59-II tanks, under license from the Royal Ordnance 105mm tank gun L7. This model doesn't shy away from detail, featuring an unmanned gun mount (RWS) that includes a 12.7mm heavy machine gun, an automatic grenade launcher, and a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun.
The crew compartment is designed to accommodate a commander, a gunner, and a driver, showcasing the tank's readiness with a NBC defense system, air conditioning, and oxygen cylinders for high-altitude operations. The model's mobility is highlighted by a 1,000-horsepower engine and a twin turbo for high-altitude performance, capable of reaching speeds up to 70km/h.
