This detailed kit brings to life the Nagmachon, a heavily armored infantry fighting vehicle that has been a cornerstone of the Israel Defence Forces. Originating from the NagmaShot APC and based on the robust Centurion Sho’t hulls of the 1970s and 1980s, the Nagmachon is renowned for its thick belly armor capable of withstanding mine blasts. It features mountings on the front hull for engineering devices like mine plows, mine rollers, and dozer blades, making it a versatile vehicle for various military operations.
Early versions of the Nagmachon were equipped with three armored shields to protect soldiers operating the mounted FN general-purpose machine guns from small arms fire. However, later models saw the addition of a distinctive raised superstructure, affectionately known as a 'doghouse', enhancing mine protection and making the Nagmachon an ideal platform for counter-insurgency and urban operations. Its significant role in the al-Aqsa Intifada and southern Lebanon in 2006 underscores its effectiveness in combat scenarios. Primarily used as an engineering vehicle and carrier for sappers, its main function remains to transport infantry safely across the battlefield.
