This initiative combined the robust starting wheels of the Panzer III with the powerful engine of the Panzer IV. The result was the creation of prototype Panzer III/IV tanks, which intriguingly mounted the Panzer IV turret atop the chassis. Although these prototypes marked a significant advancement, their development was halted by July of the same year.
