Discover the Panhard VBL Model Kit from Hobby Boss - a detailed representation of the iconic wheeled 4x4 all-terrain vehicle known for its versatility across various configurations. This model captures the essence of the VBL, which was ingeniously designed to merge the agility of the Peugeot VLTT liaison vehicle with robust protection against small arms fire, artillery fragments, mines, and NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) weapons. Notably, the VBL stands out for its full amphibious capabilities, allowing it to swim at speeds of up to 5.4 km/h. Additionally, it is designed for air transportability by C-130, C-160, and A400M aircraft, showcasing its operational flexibility.
The development of the VBL dates back to the 1980s, with it officially entering operational service in France in 1990. It boasts a fuel consumption rate of 16 litres per 100 km, making it an efficient choice for military operations. This model kit specifically represents the VBL MILAN version, equipped for anti-tank medium-range combat (up to 2000 metres) with a MILAN missile fire unit and six missiles, complemented by a MIRA Thermal camera for enhanced targeting.
