Introducing the GMC CCKW, a 2.5-ton 6X6 U.S. Army cargo truck that played a crucial role in World War II and the Korean War. Known as the `Deuce and a Half` or `Jimmy`, this iconic vehicle came in various variants to suit different needs.
[Experience the versatility of the CCKW with options for open or closed cab, and Long Wheel Base (LWB 353) or Short Wheel Base (SWB 352). Initially featuring a closed-cab design with all-steel cargo beds, the truck evolved as the war progressed. An open-cab version was introduced with fixed `half doors` and a canvas top, along with a wooden bed to conserve steel. However, the wood bed was later replaced with a more durable `composite` bed featuring steel sides and framing, but with wooden slats for the bed. Eventually, the `wood/steel` composite bed was upgraded to an all-steel composite bed for enhanced performance.]
