1969年11月、オープンボディのフェアレディに代わって、ロングノーズとショートデッキのクローズドボディという大胆なクーペスタイルとなって誕生したのが初代フェアレディーZです。日本国内ではL20型とS20型の2種類のエンジンが設定され、アメリカにおいては ダットサン・スポーツのブランドで、2.4、2.6リットルの直6エンジンを搭載した240Z、260Zを発売し、絶大な人気を誇りました。 Z432RZ432はスカイラインGT-Rに搭載された名機S20型エンジンが搭載されたモデルです。DOHC 4バルブ/3連ソレックスキャブ/2カムシャフト(432)で構成された直6DOHCエンジンは5速マニュアルミッションとの組み合わせで、最高出力 160ps/最大トルク18.0kgmで最高速度は210km/hにも達しました。後にはボディをFRPパネルなどで軽量化したレーシングベース車両のZ432Rも設定され、レースシーンでも活躍しています。Z432は四百数十台、Z432Rは三十数台の生産にとどまり、その超少量デモルは今でも、"幻のZ"として語り継がれています。 ロードレースフェアレディZは1970年1月の鈴鹿300kmレースでデビューしました。レーシング仕様車Z432Rは、初戦からトップを争う快走を演じ、同じ年のレース・ド・ニッポン6時間レースで初優勝を飾っています。 Z432R(PS30SB型)乗車定員：2名全長：4,115mm全幅：1,630mm全高：1,290mmホイールベース：2,305mm、トレッド前/後：1,355mm/1,345mm車両重量：960kgエンジン：S20型 水冷直列6気筒DOHC総排気量：1,989cc最高出力：160ps/7,000rpm最大トルク：18.0kg-m/5,600rpm最高速度：210km/hサスペンション：前後ストラット・コイル独立ブレーキ前/後：ディスク/ドラム
