Discover the majestic Tovarishch, a three-mast barque with a storied past, brought to you by Aoshima. Originally launched in 1933 for the Imperial Germany Navy as the Gorch Fock, this vessel has witnessed the tides of history. During the tumultuous times of World War II, she was anchored in Stralsund and later saw service in 1944. As the war drew to a close in 1945, she was scuttled in the shallow waters off Rugen to prevent capture by the Soviets. However, fate had more in store for her; in 1948, she was claimed as war reparations by the Soviet Union and was given the new name, Tovarishch. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, she briefly came under Ukrainian ownership before finally making her way back to Germany in 2003.
