四式戦闘機 疾風(キ-84)は、九七戦(キ-27)、隼(キ-43)、鍾馗(キ-44)の陸軍主力戦闘機を生んだ名門、中島によって生産された戦闘機で、2000馬力級のハ45エンジンを搭載し、速度、操縦性に優れ、また強力な武装と防弾を合わせ持っていました。 昭和19年3月末に制式採用が決定すると、"大東亜決戦機"と称して生産され、中国大陸、フィリピン、沖縄、本土防衛に奮戦しました。特に中国大陸では、P-51などに対して互角以上の戦闘で、一時的でしたが、制空権を奪回したほどの活躍ぶりでした。 しかし、量産に入ってから材質、工作技術の低下、それにともなったエンジンなどの性能不調の問題が発生しましたが、悪条件の中、零戦、隼に注ぐ3,500機ほどが生産されました。 戦後、疾風はアメリカでテストされ、「太平洋戦争に登場した日本戦闘機中最優秀機」と絶賛されました。 《データ》乗員：1名全幅：11.238m全長：9.920m全高：3.385m全備重量：3,890kgエンジン：ハ45-21離昇出力：2000馬力最大速度：624km/h(高度6,500m)武装：12.7mm機関砲×2、20mm機関砲×2
