The F-4J model boasts enhanced features over its predecessor, the F-4B, including a more powerful radar, a robust main landing gear structure, and an upgraded engine. This remarkable aircraft took to the skies for its maiden flight in May 1966, with deployment commencing in December of the same year. By December 1972, a total of 522 units had been produced. The F-4J also played a significant role in the Vietnam War starting in 1968, where it contributed to the creation of numerous "MiG Killers." This model kit includes decals for two distinguished fighter squadrons: the VF-114 (114th Fighter Squadron) stationed on the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk, and the VF-21 (21st Fighter Squadron) "Freelancers."
