Description
1/32 Imaginary Skeleton Tyrannosaurus from the "Imaginary Skeleton" series — a 1/32-scale articulated T. rex skeleton kit, about 35 cm long, drawing on the latest paleontology research.
The premise is to imagine "life" from the ancient memory of fossils. At 1/32 scale, the kit folds in current scientific theory and lets you simulate building an actual skeletal specimen. Modeling captures the moment of a leaping pose, where the gastralia (belly ribs) twist along with the skin to sit close against the body. Three bones merge to faithfully recreate the special instep that supported the animal's near-10-ton weight. The wishbone at the base of the short but powerful arms shows traces of stress fracture from heavy impacts. Holes where nerves passed through the lips are reproduced with kit-grade precision, and bite marks from the lower jaw teeth are visible on the upper jaw parts. The long counterbalance tail tapers down to small bones at the tip with delicate shaping. A Cretaceous-era plant-life base captures detail down to individual leaves, and a separate booklet supervised by dinosaur expert Kyoichi Tomita is included.
