RGM-79(G) GM Sniper

RGM-79[G] GM Sniper is the long-range variant of the GM Ground Type, introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team (U.C. 0079). Aside from the rifle and the work needed to carry it, it is the same machine.

What it does in the story

At least four GM Ground Types of the Kojima Battalion were converted to this standard. They were instrumental in the destruction of Zeon's Apsaras III mobile armour and of Shiro Amada's Ez8.

What makes it different

The rifle has two ways to shoot.
Charge the BLASH XBR-X-79YK's energy cap for more than two minutes and it fires two shots per charge. Bypass the cap and draw from an external generator instead, and the rifle rivals a battleship's main gun in firepower and range.

The generator mode needs its own cooling.
On the direct-feed setting the control signal and idling power travel through the suit, so suit and rifle are force-cooled and tied to the generator by cables and pipes. A backpack combining power source and cooling lets the suit leave its position and set an ambush.

The shield doubles as a firing rest.
The spiked tip of the forearm shield can be driven into the ground as a free-standing frontal defence. With the shield holding position, both hands are free for a large-calibre weapon.

The colour is the field marking.
Sensors, operating system, cooling and power transmission are retuned for the long rifle, and the suit was repainted olive green so crews could tell it from a plain GM Ground Type.

How big is it?

Head height: 18.0 m

1/144: roughly 12.5 cm

Why buy from P-Rex Hobby

P-Rex Hobby is a Bandai Recommended Hobby Store with 20,000+ customers served and 1,800+ five-star reviews.
