GAT-X303 Aegis Gundam

GAT-X303 Aegis Gundam is one of the five prototype mobile suits built for the Earth Alliance's G Project at Heliopolis, and the commander unit of the group because of its communications and analysis equipment. It appears in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED (2002, Cosmic Era, C.E. 71); Athrun Zala flies it after ZAFT takes it during the raid on the colony.

What it does in the story

The Aegis rolled out on 20 January C.E. 71 and was stolen five days later, then carried to Earth to hunt the Archangel. With the Duel, Buster and Blitz it intercepted the ship in the Indian Ocean and forced it to put in at Orb, and Athrun's last fight in the suit is against Kira Yamato's Aile Strike.

What makes it different

The heaviest gun on a G Project suit is built into its torso.
The Scylla is a 580 mm multi-phase energy cannon hidden in the body and usable only in MA Attack Mode.
